Drivers should expect major problems around Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday afternoon. Police took someone into custody after shots were fired and some kind of accident took place near Walter Reed. Visit Crime Scene for the latest on this situation.

Two lanes are blocked on the northbound Rockville Pike after Jones Bridge Road, which should snarl traffic leaving Walter Reed and the National Institutes of Health. The Post’s Katherine Shaver reports that delays extend to Battery Lane. Expect serious issues on Rockville Pike, Old Georgetown Road and Connecticut Avenue, with traffic problems reverberating through Bethesda.
