Monitoring the Monday morning commute

Good morning, commuters! The Veterans Day holiday is being observed today, giving many government workers and others the day off.

So far, traffic volume in the Washington area is low and there are no accidents to report on the roads.

Metrorail will be open from 5 a.m. through midnight, but trains are operating on a Saturday schedule. Metro also has work planned on the Orange, Green and Red lines through closing Monday. There is no MARC or VRE service today.

The Capital Weather Gang predicts a mild and cloudy Monday, with the possibility of rain showers developing later in the day.
