Major delays at BWI and in the Northeast

Fog and limited visibility around Baltimore-Washington International Marshall Airport have created heavy delays and numerous cancellations for travelers heading to or from that airport.

The foggy conditions at BWI have been particularly problematic for flights scheduled to arrive at the airport, said spokesman Jonathan Dean. Still, the BWI Web site was riddled with cancellations and delays for Monday afternoon and into the evening.

There were also weather-related delays reported at JFK International, Newark International and Philadelphia International airports.

Officials at Reagan National and Dulles International airports said that their airports were experiencing some delays, largely stemming from similar stalls at other airports, but the hold-ups weren’t too bad at either airport.

If you’re flying today, make sure to check with your airline before heading out.
