Brush fires along I-66 causing delays

This post has been updated.

Brush fires along Interstate 66 in Arlington and Fairfax counties caused delays in both directions this morning.

The right westbound lane of I-66 was blocked by emergency vehicles, and smoke is causing some delays near Falls Church.

Eastbound delays are the result of drivers slowing down to see what is going on.

The fires were extinguished and all lanes are open, but there are residual delays.
