All lanes of New York Avenue NE have reopened following a pedestrian collision near Kendall Road.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital where he died, officials said.

Traffic on westbound New York Avenue NE at Kendall Street is now getting by in the two left lanes. The right lane remains closed due to the ongoing police investigation. Delays extend about one mile.

New York Avenue is blocked at Kendall Street in Northeast Washington Wednesday morning following a pedestrian collision.
Police said the pedestrian was struck by a car in the 1300 block of New York Avenue NE around 5:30 a.m.
The striking car stayed on the scene, and the driver is cooperating with officials, police said. No information about the condition of the victim was immediately available.
The crash investigation is causing delays on westbound New York Avenue, heading toward downtown D.C. Around 6:30 a.m., police closed all westbound lanes, blocking traffic from getting through. The closure was expected to be temporary, but officials said delays would likely continue throughout the morning rush. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
