Pedestrian hit by bus in downtown D.C.

A pedestrian was hit by a Metrobus in downtown D.C. Thursday morning, leading to traffic delays near Gallery Place, police said.

The accident happened shortly before 8 a.m. in the 700 block of H Street NW. Police said the victim, a man, was conscious and breathing. He was been transported to a local hospital for treatment in unknown condition. It is unclear if the man was in the crosswalk when he was struck.

The accident is under investigation and drivers should expect delays in the area of H and 7th streets NW.
