5:10 P.M. Update:
Red Line trains are no longer single-tracking, according to Metro. However, some residual delays remain in both directions due to the earlier broken rail. Metro warns that the delays should last until about 5:30 p.m.
Red Line trains are single-tracking between Friendship Heights and Van Ness as crews work to repair a broken rail outside of the Tenleytown station.
Riders should expect delays in both directions on the Red Line. Metro announced the work shortly before 3 p.m. and said replacing the broken rail could take about three hours. That means these delays could stretch into the Friday evening commute.
