METRO

Metro will open two hours early, beginning service at 5 a.m. on Saturday. In addition to providing the map above, organizers also assembled a Google Map showing Metro stations near the race’s route:

But there will be track work on two lines, so be prepared to encounter some headaches if you’re using the Red or Orange lines. On the Red Line, shuttle buses will replace trains between NoMa-Gallaudet and Takoma (the Rhode Island Ave, Brookland and Fort Totten stops will be closed); on the Orange Line, trains will single track between East Falls Church and West Falls Church and between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. Expect delays in both directions on both of these lines.

Metro urges riders using the eastern side of the Red Line to use the Green Line to get from Fort Totten to Gallery Place-Chinatown, even if it means transferring or looping back, because it may take less time than using a shuttle bus.

In addition, the race and its related street closures should snarl Metrobus service. Metro expects it to impact the following bus routes: 32, 34, 36, 38B, 42, 52, 54, 64, 70, 74, 80, 90, 92, 96, A42, A46, A48, B2, D4, D6, D8, G2, G8, H2, H4, L2, M6, N6, P6, S2, S4, U2, U6, V8, X2 and X8.

For bus routes north of Constitution Avenue, detours are expected between 6:30 a.m. and the early afternoon. These buses on the north side of the route will turn back at a point near a Metrorail stop, according to Metro. For buses south of Constitution Avenue, detours are expected between 7:30 a.m. and the middle of the afternoon.
