Beltway lanes closed in Maryland after fatal hit and run

All lanes of the Beltway have reopened following an earlier hit and run investigation in Prince George’s County.

The Beltway is jammed in Maryland following a fatal hit and run early Wednesday morning.

The two right lanes of the Outer Loop at Landover Road/MD 202 in Prince George’s County are closed. The two left lanes are getting by but traffic is slow between Landover Road and U.S. 50.

Police said a man was struck by a vehicle shortly after 3 a.m. on I-495 at Landover Road. Police have not released the victim’s identity or a reason for his being in the roadway. No information about the suspect vehicle is available.
