Police investigating altercation on Green Line train

Metro Transit Police are investigating an altercation between several passengers that occurred Thursday on a Green Line train. The incident involved racial epithets and other slurs as well as a physical confrontation.

Police responded shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday to the incident, which occurred on a Green Line train bound for Branch Avenue as it approached Anacostia. Metro officials said a 62-year-old male from Brandywine believed to be involved in the incident had contusions and abrasions on his face but declined medical assistance. No charges have been filed, said Metro spokeswoman Caroline Lukas.
