Frederick Douglass Bridge reopened

The District Department of Transportation reports that the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge reopened at 1 p.m. after being closed for much of the day.

The South Capitol Street bridge over the Anacostia River was closed from 4 to 9 a.m. Sunday for routine testing, then remained closed for several hours more. A DDOT spokeswoman, Monica Hernandez, confirmed at 1:15 p.m. that bridge operations were back to normal.
