Metro reports Red Line delays due to sick customer

Update: 11:17 a.m.: 

Metro is reporting another round of delays on the Red Line, this time due to a sick customer aboard a train at Fort Totten.

As a result, Red Line trains are single-tracking between the Silver Spring and Fort Totten stations. There are delays in both directions.

Update, 10:40 a.m.:

Normal service has resumed on the Red Line, Metro says.

Original post, 9:20 a.m.:

Metro riders are facing significant delays on the Red Line Monday morning due to a switch problem at Fort Totten station.

There are delays in both directions, Metro officials said.
