I-95 North reopens following fatal crash

Update, 6:45 a.m.:

The crash has been cleared and all the main lanes of I-95 North have reopened, authorities said. Residual delays remain.

Original post: 5:52 a.m.:

The main northbound lanes of Interstate 95 are closed before the Fairfax County Parkway following a fatal crash Tuesday morning.

The main lanes are being diverted in Lorton. HOV lanes are open, but already jammed.

Drivers are advised to find an alternate route, if possible. Delays are expected to last throughout the morning rush hour.

Virginia State Police said one person died in the crash, which involved a motorcycle and tractor-trailer. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
