For the third time this week, an accident on northbound Interstate 95 near Quantico caused headaches for some commuters.
The Virginia Department of Transportation reported major delays following a crash that occurred on I-95 about 5:45 a.m., near milepost 147 at Quantico. The northbound left lane and shoulder were closed for about an hour.
VDOT reported that traffic was backed up about four miles.
On Wednesday, significant delays occurred near the same location after all northbound lanes were closed following a multiple-vehicle crash. On Tuesday, the main northbound lanes of I-95 were closed further north, near the Fairfax County Parkway, after a fatal collision.
