I-270 reopens south of Frederick

2:44 p.m. update: The northbound lanes have also reopened. Watch for lingering delays.

2:36 p.m. update: The southbound lanes have reopened.

Original post: An accident on Interstate 270 has blocked the road in both directions before Fingerboard Road/MD 80 just south of Frederick. While the crash is more than 23 miles north of the Capital Beltway, commuters who might be heading to I-270 should keep this in mind. As of 2:30 p.m., delays were extending back to Father Hurley Boulevard north of Germantown.
