New radio spots to promote Dulles Airport

Officials at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have unveiled a series of new radio spots as part of an effort to boost passenger traffic at Dulles International Airport.

The zippy 15-second spots will air on WTOP, WNEW and the Total Traffic Network. Here’s a sampling of what you might hear:

From sunrise in Sao Paolo…

To sunset in Seoul …

Dulles International Airport can get you there…

With non-stop flights to Brazil and South Korea plus forty-six other international destinations …

Dulles International … we’ll take you everywhere.

The goal of the campaign is to remind travelers of the myriad of international flights offered at Dulles, Margaret McKeough, MWAA’s chief operation officer, said in a briefing to authority board members on Wednesday.

While passenger travel has been up at Reagan National Airport, Dulles has not fared as well. McKeough said Dulles officials have also added other amenities to appeal to travelers, including dry cleaning drop-off and a car wash and detailing service.
