Original post: Metro officials said seven bus routes in Southeast D.C. will be impacted as a result of Monday morning’s fatal shooting at the Washington Navy Yard. At least 13 people, including the gunman, are reported dead. The routes include, 90, 92, P6, V7, V9, 74 and A9. Passengers should expect delays.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said passengers also may notice an increased police presence on trains and buses. However, he noted that there have been no specific threats against the Metro system.
Metro police officers who work the day shift will stay on duty to aid local and federal officials in the investigation. Metro’s K-9 units also are assisting with the investigation.
Stessel also said that rumors of a suspicious individual at the Anacostia Metro station that surfaced on social media were unfounded and not connected to Monday morning’s Navy Yard shooting. Metro police did a sweep of the station and determined it was safe.
