Updated at 8:36 a.m.

An accident involving a truck has shut down three lanes of the inner loop of the Beltway near the Gallows Road exit in Fairfax County.

The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. Vehicles are now able to get by on the right shoulder and the left lane only. Crews are dealing with a truck that was involved in the collision and smoking.

Drivers should expect significant delays. It is not known by police authorities how long it will take to clean up the roadway.
