Metro clears delays on Green and Orange lines

Updated at 7:37 a.m.

Metro said both travel times on its Green and Orange lines are back to normal, after delays during the first part of the Wednesday morning commute.

On the Orange Line, riders faced delays because of an earlier incident that involved a train malfunction at Metro Center.

On the Green Line, trains were sharing a track between the Naylor Road and Southern Avenue stations as of 6:30 a.m. because of a disabled train at the Naylor Road stop.

Within 10 minutes, Metro sent an e-mail alert saying trains on the Green Line were no longer sharing a track. But officials warned that delays continued in both directions for a period of time.

By 6:52 a.m., Metro said normal service had resumed at Metro Center.
