Orange Line train strikes deer; earlier delays now over

Normal service is back on Metro’s Orange Line between Cheverly and New Carrollton after an earlier incident in which a train struck a deer.

A train struck a deer Wednesday morning on Metro’s Orange Line between the Cheverly and New Carrollton stations.

Trains shared a track for less than 10 minutes after the collisions. Metro officials said riders should expect delays in both directions for part of the morning commute.
