Tuesday: Metrorail open, Metrobus to offer limited service

Metro officials have announced the Metrobus will begin limited operations Tuesday morning, but the rail system will offer regular weekday schedule.

MetroAccess service will resume at noon, and the MetroAccess call center will open at 10 a.m.  Tuesday.

Officials said buses will begin Tuesday service operating under a “severe snow service” plan. Under that plan there will be bus service only on the busiest portions of the following routes:

  • In the District: 32, 36, 52, 54, 70, 90, 92, A6/A8, S2, X2
  • In Maryland: 83, A12, C4, C22, D12, F4, J2, K6, P12, Q1, T18, Y9, Z8
  • In Virginia: 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 7A, 9A/REX, 10B, 16A, 22A/25A, 23A, 28A, 29N

This link will tell you which portion of the route will have service.

Metrobus riders should know that even with some service restored, road conditions may mean delays and detours are still possible. Metro will bring additional bus routes online when it determines they are safe to operate.
