The inner loop of the Capital Beltway has reopened after an earlier accident that closed all lanes of the highway in Lanham.

Original post at 9:45 a.m.

The inner loop of the Capital Beltway was shut down Wednesday morning between Routes 450 and 50 in Lanham.

Prince George’s County Fire officials responded to a crash just before 10 a.m. that involved at least one vehicle overturned with one person trapped inside.

Crews were on the scene and it was unclear how long the road closures would last. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.

Fire officials said one adult woman was injured in the incident and was transported to an area trauma center. Her injuries are believed to be non life-threatening.

There is a second incident in that area. It involves an overturned box truck on the inner loop of the Beltway near the exit ramps to Route 50. Fire officials said they expect the injuries from that incident to be minor.
