Sinkhole closes part of road in Northwest D.C.

D.C. Police said the 5700 block of 27th Street NW is closed Monday morning because of a sinkhole.

It was not immediately known how big the sinkhole was. The street is closed between Northampton Street and Nebraska Avenue NW.

Police said the road will remain closed until authorities can determine if it is safe.
