Delays in Metro’s Blue and Orange lines

Trains are no longer single-tracking on the Orange and Blue lines from Foggy Bottom to Virginia. Delays continue in both directions.

Metro’s Blue and Orange lines are still single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Arlington.  Metro officials say customers should expect delays of up to 25 minutes due to a problem with an arcing insulator near the Rosslyn stop.

Metro spokeswoman Caroline Lukas said crews had to shut down the power to fix the problem. These problems are common when the system has had a lot of heavy rain, she said.

Trains in the direction of Largo and New Carrollton are skipping Courthouse, Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom. Metro says customers going to any of those stops should switch trains and go back.

Metro riders on the Orange and Blue Lines should expect delays Friday evening.

Blue Line trains are single tracking between Arlington Cemetery and Foggy Bottom due to a track problem outside Rosslyn. Orange Line trains are single tracking between Clarendon and Foggy Bottom, also due to the track problem near Rosslyn.

Metro said inbound trains are bypassing Courthouse, Rosslyn and Foggy Bottom station.
