MARC trains running after delay; phone line fell on tracks

MARC trains were delayed in Savage and Laurel Wednesday morning after phone lines fell on the tracks, said a Maryland Transportation Administration spokesman.

Paul Shepard, a spokesman for the authority, said two trains – one headed to Washington and the other to Baltimore – were held about 8 a.m. because transit officials initially believed the lines were power lines.

The phone line was cut and trains began running shortly after 9:30 a.m., he said.
