D.C. police close Stanton Road SE for sinkhole

D.C. police closed a portion of Stanton Road SE Wednesday morning because of a sinkhole.

Authorities said the hole is near the 3000 block of the roadway. Police closed the road in both directions and said water and transportation officials have been notified.

Just last week, a sinkhole closed down a portion of 14th Street NW for days. The sinkhole even had a Twitter account where musings like “Gotta love all this fresh air,” were updated daily. Repairs to that sinkhole were finished Monday.
