A MARC train headed to Washington was delayed in Dickerson Tuesday morning after a worker fell from one of the cars, officials said.
Paulette Austrich, a Maryland Transportation Administration spokeswoman, said a conductor slipped as the train was approaching the Dickerson station in Maryland just before 6:45 a.m.
Peter Piringer, a spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, said witnesses told authorities that the worker fell about 10 feet as he was preparing train doors for arrival at the station.
Austrich said the conductor was treated at the scene for a large head laceration and taken to an area hospital.
She said passengers from train 892 were transferred to other trains. An MTA alert said one of the trains was 20 to 25 minutes late.
