The distance separating Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III has been steadily shrinking and Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay isn’t tipping his hand about which quarterback his team will take with the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft.
“I think they're both outstanding young men,” Irsay said during the NFL owners’ meetings Monday in Palm Beach, Fla. (via Dan Graziano’s NFC East blog). “I don't think it's either-or, where only one of them is going to succeed. I think they're both going to be great.”
Luck, the Stanford quarterback, has long been presumed to be the Colts’ choice for the No. 1 pick and RGIII is considered a lock to be the Washington Redskins’ choice at No. 2. Unless that were to change...
Whichever way the Colts go, they’d “look into” completing a deal before the draft, Irsay said, but the Colts aren’t there yet.
“We’re still in the evaluation process right now.”
