Defending BCS champion Auburn scored 14 consecutive points with less than three minutes remaining to earn a 42-38 win over Utah State, which has suffered 13 straight losing seasons.

Robert Turbin’s one-yard touchdown run gave the Aggies a 38-28 lead with 3:38 left and sent many Auburn fans to the exits. But the Tigers marched right down the field and scored on Philip Lutzenkirchen’s 15-yard touchdown catch with 2:07 left.

Auburn then recovered the onside kick and, with many of its fans watching from the walkways, took the lead on Michael Dyer’s one-yard touchdown run with 30 seconds left.

The Aggies’ final drive went nowhere.

Final Auburn-Utah State stats can be found here.
