Boston Bruins celebrate Stanley Cup with $156,679.74 bar tab

( Elevate Communications via Boston.com)

That’s some bar tab the Boston Bruins ran up.

The team carried its Stanley Cup celebration into Saturday, with a visit to Shrine nightclub at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Conn, and ran up a bill that’s a little obscene.

However, in fairness to the Bruins, it should be noted:

1) A 30-liter, $100,000 bottle of Ace of Spades Midas (one of only six in existence) is going to skew the tab higher and, frankly, is required because of the size of the Stanley Cup. Take that way, and the tab is much more reasonable. (In addition, it would have been wrong not to have gone for the bottle; it’s twice the size of the one Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks ordered last week.)

2) The $156,679.74 does include tip ($24,869.80).

3) The Bruins won the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years.

4) They were drinking at a casino and they apparently didn’t try to win back the amount of the tab.

5) $4 for a small Fiji?

And they didn’t try to charge it to Dez Bryant
