The Miami Dolphins took a look at a couple of running backs who were in Washington last season. They passed on Clinton Portis (as did the New England Patriots last week), but opted to sign Larry Johnson today.

Yes, Larry Johnson.

Johnson, 31, was cut by the Redskins in September and was picked up by no teamt he rest of the season. In 2008, LJ gained 874 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also was suspended by the Chiefs and Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The Dolphins are seeking to bolster a group that includes Reggie Bush, Lex Hilliard and rookie Daniel Thomas.
