As word of the massive mid-game brawl between Georgetown and a Chinese professional basketball team circulated on the Internet on Thursday, former Hoyas took to Twitter to express their thoughts.
Some expressed complete shock, others shared their support for their fellow Hoyas and a few seemed to insinuate they wish they had been on the court to dole out some punishment of their own.
Austin Freeman, Greg Monroe, DaJuan Summers, Chris Wright and Jessie Sapp were among those discussing the sports news of the day.
I am rarely at a lost for words.... but this right here... this takes the cake
all these ppl got a lot to say about what happened ova there but i would love to see what they would do if somebody threw a chair at them...
Members of Georgetown’s basketball program met with members of China’s Bayi Rockets on Friday, and now everything seems to be smoothed over.
Said Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai after a briefing on Vice President Joe Biden’s China visit, “My understanding is that it’s all cleared up. We’re pleased about this outcome.”
Now, back to the Twittersphere...
@G_Monroe10 me and u woulda been slappin dudes left and right lmao
Chris Wright provided some semblance of the voice of reason amid the Twitter cacophony.
we dont advocate violence but we definetey dont tolerate the nonsense. We represent alot more then most college teams. #fact
We are Georgetown!! Im down with my Hoyas until the end!! #ProudAlumni
Roy Hibbert, meanwhile, is content not to watch the videos streaming out of Beijing at all.
