The team informed Tony Agnone, agent for the two-time Pro Bowler, of the change today, the Star-Ledger reports.

The Giants wanted a first-round draft pick in return for Umenyiora and Agnone, could find no team willing to pay that price.

Umenyiora, who has been in training camp but has not practiced because of an undisclosed injury, contends that the Giants promised to restructure his contract. He is to earn $7.1 million in total base salary over the next two years.
