Jeff Fisher could decide today whether to coach Dolphins or Rams

Say this about Jeff Fisher’s decision-making process: what it loses in the stretched-out-beyond-all-reason department it makes up for in the leakproof area.

Fisher, former coach of the Tennessee Titans, is mulling offers from the Miami Dolphins and St. Louis Rams and, according to the Miami Herald, is expected to make his decision today.

That doesn’t mean, the Herald cautions, that there’ll be any news, only that he’ll make up his mind and then begin negotiating.

Michael Lombardi of NFL.com says it “appears he will choose the Dolphins.”

On Sunday, Fox’s Jay Glazer said Fisher’s choice would be the Rams; later Sunday night, Peter King pointed out that if it came down to money, the Dolphins would be the winner. Indeed, when Fisher was in St. Louis last week, he left on Southwest Airlines. In Miami, he flew about on owner Stephen Ross’ chopper.

Miami fired coach Tony Sparano in mid-December; the Rams fired Steve Spagnuolo after the final game of the regular season
