Jim Tressel, Lloyd Carr pay Cleveland Browns camp a visit

A vestless, nearly incognito Jim Tressel was back on a football field today.

Tressel, who was forced to step down as Ohio State coach in May, visited the Cleveland Browns’ training camp in Berea, Ohio. Now, what exactly did his presence mean?

Probably nothing. Maybe it was just celebrity day: Cavaliers General Manager Tom Heckert and assistant coach Paul Presses were present as well. Perhaps Tressel’s presence was one of mere proximate happenstance: He grew up in Berea and played nearby at Baldwin-Wallace College. Maybe it was rivals day. Joining him on the sidelines was former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr.

Or maybe there is something to those rumors about an NFL gig after all.
