Perhaps Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries should have seen their breakup coming.

If they had double-majored in celebritology and sportsology, they’d know that marriages between stars of the two worlds rarely endure. Call it the Monroe-DiMaggio rule, only now it involves prenups and tattoo removal.

Admittedly, most marriages last longer than the 72 days Kim ’n’ Kris, of the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets were together. Also admittedly, most generate significantly less than the reported $15 million their 72 days of wedded bliss brought in. Still, had they looked at the list of couples who couldn’t last, they might have thought twice:

Halle Berry and David Justice;

Robin Givens and Mike Tyson;

Brooke Shields and Andre Agassi;

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker in, as they say, happier days. (Reuters)
Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman (who lasted all of 10 days);

Tatum O’Neal and John McEnroe;

Vanessa Williams and Rick Fox;

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker;

Tawney Kitaen and Chuck Finley.

So, basically, all hope rests with David and Victoria Beckham.
