Little League group gets a helping hand from Redskins

When a Mount Airy, Md., Little League group lost all its equipment in a fire last weekend, a football guy stepped up with an assist.

Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has promised $10,000 from the Redskins Charitable Foundation to the Four County Little League.

The fire, which remains under investigation, destroyed a shed the group used on the grounds of New Beginning Nazarene Church.

“Everything's gone,” JimGill, president of the organization, told Fox 5. “The tractor melted ... we store bags of field conditioner in there -- all that stuff is burned out. The pitching machine is gone.”

The organization’s insurance policy covers injury, not equipment losses and local businesses also have offered donations, but the Redskins’gift “will really help out,” Gill said.
