Masters 2012: Stealing sand at Augusta is a bad idea

From the dumb-things-golf-fans-do files:

When the Masters ended Sunday evening and the “get in the hole” hollerers were all hoarse, a 40-year-old spectator was arrested at Augusta National.

He was, according to Augusta police, trying to steal sand from a sand trap at the hallowed course.

Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay told the Augusta Chronicle that Clayton Price Baker slipped under the ropes and tried to scoop up sand with his cup. Augusta National takes its sand seriously; security and sheriff’s deputies chased the Ohio man down and arrested him on a disorderly conduct charge.

Baker, according to Gay, was emboldened by alcohol and unable to gather any sand.
