Free-agent cornerback Eric Wright has reached agreement on a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The San Francisco 49ers were initially interested in Wright when free agency opened at 4 p.m. Tuesday, but they chose to re-sign Carlos Rogers.
Wright, 26, spent 2011 with the Detroit Lions after playing four seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
The Bucs had plenty of salary-cap space and they’re spending freely, signing San Diego Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson Tuesday evening.
