NFL lockout: Kevin Mawae says there will be no NFLPA statements today

Kevin Mawae, president of the NFL Players Association, has issued an update on the labor situation after early Friday buzz that players might vote on an agreement today.

Mawae said in a statement:

Player leadership is discussing the most recent written proposal with the NFL, which includes a settlement agreement, deal terms and the right process for addressing recertification. There will not be any further NFLPA statements today out of respect for the Kraft family while they mourn the loss of Myra Kraft.

DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the NFLPA, is attending the funeral of Myra Kraft in Boston. The wife of Robert Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, died Wednesday after a battle with cancer.
