Tiger Woods began his opening round of the 93rd PGA Championship with a birdie on the 10th hole and another on the 12th on Thursday at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Ga.

For Woods, a positive return to major championship golf will require impeccable focus and the ability to ignore the still-brewing storyline of the former world No. 1 and his former caddie, Steve Williams.

As the Post’s Barry Svrluga put it, Woods remains his sport’s No. 1 draw, but — thanks in large part to Williams — this week “the role [the] 156 caddies play is more in focus than ever before.”
