Police in San Diego would like to talk to Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant as well as parishoners after an alleged incident during a church service Sunday in Carmel Valley, Calif.

Reports indicate that Bryant was attending a service at St. Therese of Carmel Church when he thought a man was taking photos of him and his wife, Vanessa, with a cellphone. He allegedly took the phone from the man and left when he saw there were no photos on it. The man said he sought treatment at a hospital for a wrist injury.

“Something occurred,” a San Diego police department spokesman told ESPN, “and [Bryant] was involved. The investigation is ongoing. We're following up on the allegations and trying to sort it out.”
