Randy Moss had an impressive tryout with the New Orleans Saints last week and now the wide receiver will see how well he’d fit in with the San Francisco 49ers.
Moss, who is trying to return to the NFL after being retired for the 2011 season, is scheduled to work out for the 49ers today, taking passes from, according to CEO Jed York’s tweet, a “former Colt Pro Bowl QB.”
Gulp. Funny guy, that Jed York.
The Niners aren’t using the “former Colt Pro Bowl QB” who’s presently looking for a new home in the NFL. Instead, they’ll go with the former QB who coaches the team. Jim Harbaugh, not Peyton Manning, will fling it at Moss at the 49ers’ Santa Clara facility .
As for the matter of just who will be the 49ers’ quarterback in the fall, incumbent Alex Smith says he and the team are “working out the details” of a new deal. If they can’t reach an agreement, he’ll become a free agent at 4 p.m. EDT Tuesday. In any event, the 49ers don’t seem to be into the bidding for Manning
Former Colt Pro Bowl QB throwing for #49ers tomorrow. Just to clarify, Coach Harbaugh is turning into Capt Comeback to throw to Randy Moss— Jed York (@JedYork) March 12, 2012
