Reggie Bush traded to Miami Dolphins (updated)

Updated at 9:42 a.m.

Reggie Bush’s instinct that his days in New Orleans were numbered was correct. When the Saints drafted running back Mark Ingram in April, he tweeted:

It's been fun New Orleans. less than a minute ago via Echofon Favorite Retweet Reply

This morning, the Saints’ trade of Bush to the Miami Dolphins was completed when the running back agreed to terms on a two-year deal. (Jay Glazer of Fox Sports first reported the deal; ESPN confirmed its completion.)

Bush, the No. 2 pick of the 2006 and the 2005 Heisman Trophy winner/forfeiter out of USC, had been set to make $11.8 million in the final season of his rookie deal. He has had an injury-plagued NFL career and isn’t an every-down back at this point. Now, the second-guessing can begin about whether Ahmad Bradshaw would have been a better option for the Dolphins.

Congrats to Mark Ingram on being selected to New Orleans. He will be a great addition to the Saints backfield just as he was in Alabamaless than a minute ago via Echofon Favorite Retweet Reply
