Report: Colts will hire Eagles’ Ryan Grigson as their GM

Ryan Grigson, the Philadelphia Eagles’ director of player personnel, will be the next general manager of the Indianapolis Colts, according to an ESPN report.

Grigson, who also interviewed for the St. Louis Rams’ vacant GM position, played in the NFL and CFL and has been with the Eagles since 2004. He was promoted to director of player personnel in 2010 after four yers as director of college scouting. He previously worked for the Rams.

Owner Jim Irsay has said that replacing Jim Polian and Chris Polian, whom he fired, will be an intuitive process. The new GM will deal with, among other things, the future of quarterback Peyton Manning with the team and just what to do with that No. 1 draft pick.
