Madonna will provide halftime entertainment at Super Bowl XLVI in February, according to an SB Nation report.
Madonna, 53, has been linked to Super Bowl rumors in the past. Super Bowl XLVI will be held Feb. 5, 2012, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. An NFL spokesperson declined to comment on the report to SB Nation.
Black Eyed Peas performed last year, to decidedly mixed reviews. The year before, the remaining members of The Who performed, also to mixed reviews. Past Super Bowl performers include Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, U2, Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Janet Jackson (with her infamous wardrobe malfunction) and Michael Jackson.
Is Madonna — someone alert the manufacturer of cone-shaped bras stat — a good choice? Is there a better option?
