The Olymics apparently will continue to have a home at NBC. The network retained the U.S. rights to broadcast the Olympics, reaching agreement on a four-games deal through 2020 that will be worth more than $4 billion, according to the Associated Press.
NBC won out over ESPN and Fox, the AP reported. It cited two officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The network has carried every Summer Olymics since 1988 and every Winter Games since 2002, but that was by no means certain to continue with Comcast taking over the network and with the departure of the head of NBC Sports, Dick Ebersol.
