Report: Terrell Owens was hospitalized last week in Los Angeles

(Don Wright / AP)
Terrell Owens, who is hoping to make an NFL comeback this season, was hospitalized Thursday, according to a report on TMZ.com.

An unidentified person called 911 to report a medical emergency at a Los Angeles apartment where Owens had been staying. Police reportedly were sent to the complex as well. Owens was released and his representatives did not turns calls to TMZ.

Owens, 37, underwent surgery this summer to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and is a free agent. He recently underwent stem-cell treatment in Korea and said that he could be playing “in a month or less.”

“I’m not gonna waste your time, so I wouldn’t expect you to waste my time,” Owens told ESPN. “When I step on the field, you know what you gonna get.”
