With Matt Hasselbeck joining the Tennessee Titans and Jake Locker their quarterback of the future, Vince Young has moved from Mr. Expendable to Mr. Totally Expendable.
Unable to find a trade partner, the Titans will release Young on Thursday, according to a report.
Young, whose controversial five years in Tennessee peaked with a meltdown after a game against the Redskins and a spat with former Coach Jeff Fisher, is due a $4.25 million roster bonus and has a salary of more than $8 million due. Now, the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft will become a free agent.
Teams still looking for a quarterback include the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles (if a Kevin Kolb deal goes down) and Washington Redskins.
