Sepak Takraw: “Kung Fu volleyball” is all the rage (Video)

What do you get when you combine volleyball, soccer, badminton and martial arts? A true sporting spectacle to behold.

This video of a Sepak Takraw match has gone viral with more than 2,600,000 views since July 17 meaning it’s only a matter of time before it becomes the new “it” sport in North America. Sepak means “kick” in Malay and Takraw roughly translates as “ball” in Thai. (Sure beats the slacker recreational kickball played daily on the grounds of the Washington monument.)

Apparently the sport has been around for quite some time, and according to a Yahoo! Sports story, a team from the United States competed at the 1989 World Championships.

If handball, table tennis and trampoline are already Olympic sports, how long before Sepak Takraw gets into the mix?
